In preparation for the new year, I’ve been thinking about what I hope to accomplish in 2022. I completed many challenging and exciting projects during the past year. Now I look forward to what the next year will bring. Are you planning anything big? Perhaps you just want to update a few things? Whatever you need, I am here for you. Here are five easy home project ideas that make a big difference.
Project #1 Electrical Taped Windows
Now is the time to let in the light! It’s totally fine to hold on to your shutters, and I understand. Personally, I enjoyed getting rid of our blinds. They let the sunlight in. The real secret is a black electrical tape, though, if I were to share it. I have used this tape in several rooms throughout my home and have been very pleased with its performance. You just need to mark where your lines will be and start taping to create a grid on your windows!
Project #2 Freshening Up The Paint
Paint can make a world of difference. Never underestimate its power. Colorful paint can bring a lot of life to a space or add some character to it. Decorate your walls, cabinets, and furniture with your favorite color. You should definitely get a paint sprayer if you plan on painting a lot but you can also go with wallpapers that are available in different colors like dark blue wallpaper. I use this one and am very satisfied with it. As always, you can use a paint roller or brush as well.
Project #3 Big Statement Art
Once your walls are all pretty, you should decorate them. When compared to a few smaller frames on a wall, a giant piece of art leaves a more simplistic impression. One of the problems with large pieces of art is the cost of framing them. Here is a more affordable way to do it if you’re up for a little DIY.
Project #4 Wallpaper Makes A Comeback
The wallpaper trend has returned, and frankly, I’m not mad about it! I love how it adds some fun and interest to a room. A few days ago, I helped makeover my niece’s room in just 48 hours, so I used a cute floral wallpaper. You can get the links to the wallpaper we used and more by clicking removable wallpaper.
Wallpaper is one option you can consider if you don’t want to deal with the mess of removing it. The wallpaper comes in peel and sticks varieties. The process is quite simple. As soon as you’re done, simply peel it straight off the wall. Simple as that!
Project #5 Light Fixtures Steal The Show
Our next project is to update your light fixtures. Doing this simple thing can give a room an extra touch of style. If you want to keep it classy, keep it simple, or create a fun space with a statement light fixture like the one I used in the playroom I created for my children. Besides the light fixture I selected for the 48-hour nursery makeover, I also adore the headboard.
