Helpful tips and tricks to keep your Pressure Washer going strong

READ THE MANUAL
This should go without saying, but then those styles of Tim Allen … seriously, just read your morning coffee from the textbook and highlight relevant details so you know what’s what.
Oil leaking during shipping
In many computers, this seemed to be a general concern. If you try to start it, oil will leak and soak in air philtres that will choke out the engine. Upon delivery, check the air philtre. Wash the philtre with Purple Strength if it is saturated with grease. Enable it to dry, then replace it, and see if it continues.
Fittings & other connections loose
Check all these before start up. Tighten anything that’s loose but do NOT overtighten or you could crack the housing or strip the bolts.
Prime the pump
The pump can get affected by air stuck in hoses. Before you begin spraying, let the water flow through it for at least 30 seconds (even a few minutes). It will take longer to get primed if you have longer hoses.
Post-op care
Do not just turn off the computer and put it in the garage when you’re done (especially after long work). Allow the time for a little maintenance to be performed. To preserve the inner workings of the engine, take off the pump hose and inject a pump saver. On the inlet side, you simply attach it and spray the can before the high-pressure side of the hose comes out. It’ll extend the life of your big time pump.
Change that oil
Adjust both the motor and the pump oil for every 10 to 20 hours of operation (more often for new machines). There will be loose metal shavings in modern equipment that can fall off in the diesel, and you don’t want too many to collect and pass through the engine.
Use the right oil
For pressure washers, ordinary 30W oil sold for automobiles may be poor. So make sure you’re using the right thing and not only grabbing anything you put in your vehicle. You need tiny, air-cooled engine oil. Often use the prescribed oil included in the manual.
Think about extensions
To meet those upper storeys and gutters, wand extenders and longer (~50′) hoses are perfect. They take you away from ladders and so also discourage you from trying to move the unit around. If you’re tall, when working on ground level surfaces, a wand extension can truly save your back.
Do you have big hands?
Separating the hoses from the system and everything in close quarters can also be hard to get your hands in. To make it easier to remove, consider putting on a fast reconnect adapter.
Don’t over tighten anything
This is what we said in # 3, but we just don’t. You would potentially get leaks if you overtighten the inlet hose to the washer, for example. Remember, greater isn’t necessarily stronger!
Finesse the choke
Before you use the pull-start, many devices have manual chokes that need a little finessing. Shift the choke lever a little bit after you pull once or twice, then pull again. When required, repeat.
Accessories
To update your unit, there are many attachments you can buy for your new pressure washer. For example, new fittings and new hoses can be used to repair inexpensive parts on cheap ones, which can help guarantee that the pressure washer does its best and lasts longer.
New nozzles or spray tips are perhaps some of the most common pressure washer accessories.
